Easter is such a wonderful time of the year as we celebrate the victory of our Lord Jesus. What He accomplished 2,000 years ago has forever changed history and allowed us to truly experience communion with the God of the universe.

For so many of us, the beauty of God’s hope and promises can still seem so unreachable at times. This is especially true when we are faced with the everyday trials and heartbreaks of this world.

The resurrection of our Lord deserves to be celebrated with as much excitement as we can bring. As the Psalmist sings, “Make his praise glorious!” But now that we’ve had a great time celebrating Easter, what happens next?

Jesus’ work on the cross and resurrection from the grave has given us a true and living hope that we keep with us all year long.

Jesus is so much more than a 2-Sundays-per-year kind of Savior. He is so much more than a humble religious figure. His promises (and ability to keep them) prove that.

So when Easter ends, it’s up to us to continue sharing that message beyond Sunday morning.

We need to share that message on social media, on our websites, in email newsletters, and anywhere else we communicate with our community during the week.

Here are a few verses to use as encouragement so you can continue sharing the message of hope with people who attended your church’s Easter service.

1. God’s supports us and upholds us with His love and comfort - Psalm 94:18-19

The year 2020 could probably be best characterized as a year of shifting sand and rocky terrain. For most of us, it often felt like we were tip-toeing through a minefield as opposed to gracefully skipping through a field.

God’s promise to us is a solid, firm foundation that is built upon His unfailing love. Even when it seems like we can’t find our grounding, God upholds us. The best part is that even when we slip (because we absolutely will), God’s love is there to rescue us!

Even when the anxiety and turmoil are too much to bear, God invites us to receive His consolation. We can find safety, security, and true joy in His love and care for us!

2. No suffering is ever wasted - 1 Peter 5:10

We all experience suffering in this life. Whether it is the loss of a loved one, a painful divorce, an estranged child, or financial difficulty, suffering happens to everyone.

A beautiful promise we can hold onto in the wake of our suffering is that God does not allow any of our pain to go to waste. For those who believe in Jesus, suffering is the fertile ground that exists to bring life to brand new things. Out of our painful experiences, God is working underneath the surface propagating something beautiful from within us.

God promises that after our suffering, He will restore us. He will be faithful to bring beauty from ashes and return to us all that was lost. He also promises to increase our strength and make us firm and steadfast.

Suffering is not something any of us want to experience, but we can find hope in the reality that God will never waste a single ounce of our pain.

3. God offers us true peace - John 14:27 & Philippians 4:7

Peace can seem like such an abstract, achievable concept when we look at the very unpeaceful world we reside in. The truth is, we are all searching for a glimmer of peace in this life.

The peace we receive from this world is not a true peace because eventually it will fade away as our circumstances change. But God offers us a concrete peace; a peace that is not moved by circumstances and stressful situations. It is a peace that surpasses all understanding.

This peace is steadfast and sure because it is rooted in the God who is called “Prince of Peace.” He actually gives us His very own peace, not the peace of the world, and this peace comforts our hearts and souls. True peace is found in God alone!

4. Fear isn’t from God - 2 Timothy 2:7

Fear is such a struggle for so many people. Fear, when it is prevalent enough in our lives, can often completely consume us.

Fear makes you doubt the goodness of God and instead live in a state of paralyzing anxiety.

The promise of God is that fear does not come from Him. He has not given us a spirit of fear. In other words, God doesn’t want us to live in a state of fear.

He instead offers us the promise of the spirit He does indeed give us - of power, love, and a sound mind.

God gives us power to overcome the evil one, love to cast out fear, and a sound mind that is full of peace!

5. God will never stop loving us - Psalm 103:17

When we look to the love of this earth, it is quite fleeting. While it is possible to experience overwhelming, passionate, beautiful love from other humans on this earth, it could never compare to the love God has for us.

Even with our best intentions, our human love still has stipulations. Our love for others can run out when things get tough or trying.

But God will never, ever stop loving us. Even when we hurt Him, even when we fail, His love never runs out.

6. God will always provide for you - Philippians 4:19

In the Old Testament, God is often referred to as Jehovah Jireh, or “God will provide.” This name is so powerful and shows the true character of God - He is a God who never lets us go without.

This provision does not just come through financial means, but it is an all encompassing generosity that lavishes us with all we could ever need.

God wants to provide peace, joy, fulfillment, and so much more to us. We need only allow God to be who He is and provide us with our every need.

7. God gives our lives direction - Proverbs 3:5-6

We as humans are constantly making plans for our lives. While it is completely responsible to map out your daily life and have goals, we all find out in one way or another that things won’t always go according to plan.

When things don’t go our way, we can feel like we don’t know which way to turn. But God has not left us in our confusion and frustration. He is with us, every step of the way, guiding us.

Jesus gives our lives true direction when we don’t know what to do next.

The Bible is full of countless promises from God that remind us of His goodness. When we feel low, burdened, and lost, we have the full assurance that God is with us.

He is always faithful to keep His promises!
