7 Innovative Designers For Churches To Follow On Instagram

Instagram has become one of the most widely used social media platforms in the world. The main attribute that has set this platform apart from the very beginning is its beautiful use of images.

The introduction of Instagram to the social scene allowed users to generate their own photographic content and share it with the world. Instagram made everyone feel like they could be a photographer, which was kind of the point. Now anyone, anywhere, can share photos and videos for the world to see!

While the early days of Instagram were filled with oversaturated filters and blurry selfies, nowadays, you see some of the biggest names in music, social influencers, and artists utilizing the platform.

There are so many incredible content creators on Instagram, especially in the world of graphic design. We want to highlight a few incredible artists, including some of PMF Creative Fire’s very own, for you to follow for some major design inspiration.

1.Saint Julius Art (@saintjuliusart)

If you’re looking for design inspiration from an artist who does it all, Saint Julius Art is an account to look at. This young painter and graphic designer’s style is unmatched and immediately makes you stop the scroll with its eclectic style.

Saint Julius’ design ranges from intricate illustrations to simplistic typography. As you peruse his account, it is evident that the designer has married their talent with drawing and painting with digital graphic elements. Some design pieces are so unique you wouldn’t even think they came from the same person!

The major characteristic that makes this design account really stand out is the way each piece encourages interaction. Sometimes to get the entire message, you have to scroll through a carousel to see it all (such as this incredible one).

2. Zeal Haüs (@zealhaus)

The mantra of Zeal Haüs is to turn the tables in art, ministry, and life, and that is exactly what they do. Run by our very own Pro MediaFire art director, Zeal Haüs is a beautiful collection of original graphic design work.

At first glance, the design scheme of Zeal Haüs is full of an abundance of color and light. Each graphic is intricately pieced together with elements of bright typography often paired with human elements and portrait styles.

Overall, Zeal Haüs does a great job at pairing together verses and quotes with beautiful fonts and backgrounds.

3. Ash Ulmer Design (@ashulmerdesign)

Simple, yet striking, is the name of the game for Ash Ulmer Design. This design account is proof that sometimes less is more. Much of Ash Ulmer’s design is ruled by a simple one-color background with a minimalist illustration dead center on the design.

While many artists bring in a ton of layering of realistic elements with illustrative ones, Ash Ulmer is a straightforward illustrator whose “heart breathes in lines and shapes,” as her bio puts it.

The majority of her work incorporates Biblical imagery with simple, logo-esque icons. This style makes up most of her design work, but she also brings in portrait-style designs with simple text.

Ash Ulmer is a great example of the trend of minimalist design that still tells a beautiful story with each graphic.

4. Dustin Cooper Graphics (@dustincoopergraphics)

This designer has a mission to reach people through creativity and graphic design, and he definitely does that through his scroll-stopping graphics.

Bright, punchy colors are hallmarks of Dustin Cooper Graphics, as well as riding the waves of design trends. It is apparent that Dustin Cooper puts a lot of time and effort into his choices with layers, colors, and typography especially. In fact, he actually includes a timelapse design-process video with almost all of his pieces.

It is apparent through the process videos that Cooper is willing to experiment with color, shapes, hues, and sizes during his process. His work is great inspiration both for designers and lovers of design alike.

5.DNG Creative (@dngcreative)

Another graphic designer account who is also a bit on the most minimalistic side is DNG Creative.

While a lot of design work as of late has been saturated with color and brightness, designer David Navejas errs more on the side of simple black & white and muted tones. However, this doesn’t stop his designs from stopping the scroll!

Each design piece from DNG Creative is extraordinarily unique and is truly something you haven’t often seen before. Some graphics hone in on eclectic typography while others are jam packed with illustrations and colorful photography.

This account brings a more simplistic style, but each piece packs a huge punch and is almost too easy to share.

6.Scott The Painter (@scottthepainter)

Scott the Painter marries together his skills in painting and compelling design in perfect harmony. This “Curator of Awesomeness” has redefined the power of Biblical imagery and artwork.

Each of his pieces is not meant to be just enjoyed and moved on from quickly. Each one makes you stop in your tracks and ask “what does this image mean?” Scott’s symbol-packed images and beautifully paired with his captions that often explain his artwork and meaning behind them.

This account also shows the power behind adhering to a specific design aesthetic in order to create cohesion and establish a distinct brand. Also, his art shows the power of bringing in illustrative elements into digital design and how beautifully it can be done.

7. Starmax.des (@starmax.des)

Last but certainly not least, we have one of our graphic designers, Juan Riggo! Juan’s design work is a great example of the intricate balance between quality font choices with intricate backgrounds.

The overall design style points toward more “divine elements” such as glory, vibrance, and light. These bright features coupled with colorful backgrounds really makes Juan’s design stand out.

Each of these accounts bring incredible features to the creative table. They include gorgeous portraits, intricate illustrations, stunning font usage, vibrant colors, and even simplistic design. As you can see, each of these designers is distinctly unique from each other.

That is the beauty of recognizing God as the ultimate designer. He has created each and everyone of us so uniquely and has given us different ways of reflecting His glory. Whether it is through simple line drawings or thought-provoking paintings, creativity is bursting at the seams with these designers and so many more.

We hope this collection of Instagram accounts gives you a bit of inspiration and reminds you of the power of design in the church world!
